One day I met with Jesus,
He took me by the hand.
He said "my child just trust
in me I'll always understand".
I stood before my Saviour,
my eyes were full of tears,
I said, "how could You love me Lord,
the way I've behaved through the years?"

His arm around my shoulders,
His hand upon my head,
He spoke to me quite softly,
looked deep in my eyes and said,
"I've loved you child for many years,
even before your birth.
You are the very reason I came
to dwell upon the earth.
I know everything about you
and I love you just the same,
Even when you grieve me and
fill my heart with pain."
I looked at him my Saviour
and the tears ran down my face.
Was ever there such love as this?
by his side I take my place.
