This is one in a series of writings telling of the factors God worked together, as told us by Paul in Romans 8: 18-28, building the story of my life.

We were at a fifth Sunday fellowship meeting.
They were like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates,
You never knew what would happen but it would be good.
There was fun, fellowship and that old standby food.
We organized the churches, each time a different host.
Any church would have the meeting once a year at most.
Folks would start arriving somewhere around four.
Telling the host pastor if they wanted time on the floor.
Singers could sing one song, when singers were all done,
The host pastor could ask a group to sing another one.
Between songs anyone could stand and testify.
When the groups had exchanged setups testimony time was gone.
Then there was the preaching of the word.
Host pastors (current, next, and one before)
vetted the evangelists, preachers and speakers.
And called up those who would be heard.
Then everyone who wanted to leave was encouraged to go.
Those who left usually had a long trip to get home.
All who wanted to stay gathered around the alter
and prayed as the Spirit would lead.
Sometimes I would minister to others,
Sometimes others would minister to me.
This time I was supporting others in prayer
While reaching forward from my seat.
Many were prayed for, God blessed many a soul.
The back of a seeker seemed to open as a scroll.
When she left the altar I went up to her
and privately told her what I saw and heard.
"There was a tree struggling in your upper back
Because the roots were tied up in a gunny sack.
You are given authority over that tree my friend.
You can loose the tree so it can grow and flourish as before,
If you choose not to it will wither and die,
For as it is now it cannot grow anymore."
After the service was over, she and husband looked up me and mine. And told to us the story that vision and words defined. She'd had surgery to remove cancer from her lungs.
And was worried lately that new growth had begun.
We encouraged her to see her doctor and see to all the tests.
Knowing healing straight from God always is the best.
Verification's not a lack of faith, but faith above the rest.
We know words are from God when they stand up to the test.
