I walked along a lonely highway,
A stranger, in a great new land.
I heard a voice calling to me,
A voice I knew belonged to Him.

Though I had traveled far from loved ones,
I found a love greater than before.
As I walked along this lonely highway
His voice told me, where I went, He'd go.

A love so great I'd never known before.
So sweet, so pure, and so full of promise.
His voice told me what was in store.

A soul of peace, a heart that's pure.
His hand to hold, His face to see, when troubles come
The Comforter, His promises to keep.

Though I thought I'd journeyed long
Now I know I've just begun.
But I travel not alone

He walks beside me till my work is done.
He will guide and comfort me, as I go along.
Our love grows greater day by day.
As I journey on my way.

I walk no lonely highway now.
No stranger in a great new land.
The voice I heard speaks softly now.
And as we walk, He holds my hand.
