There are times as women when housework can seem like a mountain…and an unending task. We live with frustration…always wondering each day why our families can’t do what we ask. Although it’s quite true that they could do better -I think that we could do better each day, If we took on some gratitude while looking at housework like we do when we thank God and pray. What if our wishes for clean kitchens & dishes were replaced by a new way to feel. For instead of seeing dishes piled up in the sink we saw the evidence that God gave a meal. Instead of the exhaustion we see in the laundry and the negative things that we speak, We’d praise God for appliances…for some Third World countries are washing their clothes in a creek. The next time we complain that our bathroom is dirty and there is dust on our knick-knack shelves, We should find someone homeless to ask if that matters until we’re grateful and humble ourselves. We could locate someone lonely…with more hours in the day and no thoughts of the issues we’re stressing. In their solitude they would tell us to be grateful for messes for they are the proof of a blessing. ©Sheila Gosney ![]() ![]() ![]()
