The disciples were out there on the water
In a boat upon a troubled sea
They saw something coming on the water
Scared of what it could be.
It was Jesus walking on the water
Stepping across their troubled sea
He spoke out to the disciples
"Fear not, it is me".
Well Peter , acting just like Peter
wondering how that could be
Asked "if it's really you, Lord,
Invite me to walk with Thee".
When Jesus answered "Come"
Walking with the Lord he'd be.
He forgot about the troubled water
He simply stepped out on the sea
Meanwhile the water was a shifting
As wind was blowing on the sea
Peter's eyes strayed from Jesus
And he began to sink.
Now Peter was in a heap of trouble
As much as a body can be
He cried "Lord", looking back to Jesus
And Jesus lifted him up on top the sea.
They walked back to the boat together
Peter a shaking like a leaf
Everybody in the boat had seen it
Jesus rescued Peter from that sea.
Now if my boat should be drifting
As I travel on life's sea
Jesus will walk my troubled waters
And He'll rescue me!
