I found this beautiful picture by Diane Mahaney on a blank note card and wrote the following message to Mother:
Anna called & told me your room mate has gone on to her eternal reward. As I saw this card it brought to mind how others have gone on and left you here "ground bound". And I think of the beauty of a goose and how Bill & I love to enjoy their splendor altho I can never relate to their struggles. I know having even a brief moment to take in all I can blesses me and I know I must grasp each opportunity as it presents it's self for it won't be long until that goose will soon fly away as well.
I cherish each moment we share, each letter you write & each prayer we lift heavenward and rejoice that each of us, in His time, fly away to our eternal reward.
I am happy for your room mate. Her race is finished & I rejoice that you were allowed time with her that blessed you both. I know you made her final "ground bound" days better!
I face the reality that some day you will loose the grip of gravity & and no longer be "ground bound" but I do not look forward to it as a rare and glorious beauty cannot be replaced but enjoyed for a time. Mom you are a rare and glorious beauty in my life.
