In the arms of her proud papa
This 6 week old baby doesn't know
The love he packed into the name
She will be known as; Evelina Rose.

When he came to his grandmother, me
And told me what he'd chose;
He asked to use my mom's middle name
Evelina, and couple it with Rose.

He said "Great grandma impacted me"
May my first daughter have the honor
Of carrying her name, I'd like her to know
How your mother loved me so.

I'll tell her how her namesake had a heart
Made of pure gold.
And how she blessed my life more than
Words can e'er be told.

How she shared her home with me
And taught me right from wrong
How she opened up her heart
How our bond grew strong.

In my teenage, rebellious years
How she held me in prayer
How her tough love impacted me
And I really knew she cared.

It's my way of praising God
For such a special love
For her name to live on here
As she lives on in heaven, up above.
