Some say that this life is a stage, that from the very start
It matters not our role today, when each one plays their part.
Others say a dressing room where we gather garment fair
Preparing for our eternal home when we get "over there".
And there are those who liken life to one gigantic race
That every moment we must strive to the ending of our days.

If I were asked I'd have to say I see each judgements truth
And yet there's more from day to day be we aged or a youth.
Our "role" is not important as the condition of our heart
So latch onto this simple truth from the very start
All the "good works" man can do will not save a soul from sin
It takes the risen Savior to reconcile God and man.

All the finery one may wear has no way to compare
To the robe of righteousness we will wear "over there".
If our steps should faulter; or we take off with a blast
It's that we keep on going, not placing first or last.
Living each day with fresh rejoicing in the Savior of all men
If life's a stage, at the final curtian call I'll pass my bow to Him!

For it is His joy that gives me strength required for each task
By His grace I'm saved from sin, all I needed was to ask.
Never more will I be shackeled by the chains of my past.
Jesus keeps me day by day, should I slip He holds on fast.
When I sometime faulter; He draws me to His breast
Heals my wounds and tells me He knows I'll pass the test.

So when everything is said and done, each analogy is true
For that is where your coming from, your valid point of view.
You and I walk as companions in this life we live today
Let our feet be steadfast in Him; the Life, the Truth, the Way
Should I have some impact on mankind; to Him I owe it all
Jesus Christ is center stage for me at life's final curtain call!
