Can you think of anything sweeter than having Jesus refer to you as His friend?

  When others disappoint you;
  Jesus will always keep His promises.

  When you feel unloved;
  Jesus will surround you with a love that never changes.

  When you're lonesome;
  Jesus will always be by your side.

  When you need to be comforted;
  Jesus will open His arms wide to let you nestle in His holiness.

  When you are scared;
  Jesus will take away your fears.

  When you do wrong;
  Jesus will pick you up, dust you off, and give you a hug.

  When others can't identify with what you're going through;
  Jesus already knows.

  When others let you down;
  Jesus will pick you up.

  When others place you on the back burner;
  Jesus will always make you His number one.

  When you don't think you can take another step;
  Jesus will carry you.

Jesus is not passive in His intentions. Like one newly in love, He wants to know you deeply and generously. He wants to shower you with His constant attention. Are you getting the idea that He's passionate about wanting a relationship with you? He loves you more than any earthy being is capable of loving another. He designed you just for Himself. You are designed just the way He wants you.
That is worth repeating: You are designed just the way He wants you.
Repeat that in front of a mirror at least once a day. I am designed just the way Jesus wants me.
Reflect on it -- own it -- accept it. You, my friend, are His perfect valentine.
You might be saying, "I don't deserve His love." Welcome to the club! No one deserves to be loved by Him, but we accept His love because He tells us we must. Read this passage slowly. Don't miss the gems inside.
"Look! (Be aware of His presence.)
Here I stand at the door and knock.(He stands right by your side. He will never force Himself on you. He is asking you out on a date for eternity. He is wooing you into a relationship with Him. He is inviting you to get to know Him. He already knows all there is to know about you.)
If you hear Me calling... (Listen for His voice. It's the voice that tells you to help the person who is troubled; to give to the needy; to pray for the person on your mind (bitter or sweet). You will hear His voice in the song you sing or hear, the tears you shed, and the tug in your heart that won't go away until you act.)
and open the door, (When you realize you are no longer in control of your life; and know that He is your only hope.)
I will come in, (This is the moment of salvation when He enters your heart and changes your life from an earthly life to eternal life with Him.)
and we will share a meal as friends." (You are in an amazing relationship with Jesus. You share everything about your day. You want to know everything about Him through His Word. Reading scripture answers questions, opens doors of opportunity to serve; together, your hearts beat as one. You feel His love and His presence. You can't help but share your thoughts with Him in prayer. You are suddenly aware of those around you who do not share your passion. Jesus has become your best friend and advocate. You have fallen in love with your Maker.) Hallelujah!
