I've caught a glimpse of a heavenly rainbow
in the pages of God's Holy Book
the colors are so beautiful
as upon His words, we look.
The promise of salvation
and resurrection day,
where in skies of blue, He'll appear
to take His children away.
A kaleidoscope of color
reveals beauty to behold,
the story of Joseph's coat of many colors
touched the depths of my heart and soul.
The love of God for Israel
as they wondered all those years,
of how Moses led them through the red sea,
brought both joy and tears.
The promise of a Savior,
enfolded in the book of beginnings,
and a promise of a heavenly home,
revealed in the last book, with a happy ending.
His promises are gathered
like a rainbow spread across the sky
they paint a picture on our heart
as we look to the eastern skies.
One day we'll sail away
to those beautiful golden shores,
we shall live with the Savior eternally,
and praise His name forevermore.
So as you open up the Bible
and behold the words of our Lord,
let God paint a rainbow of promise
leading to golden streets and an eternal reward.
