The older I get and the longer I know God
the more I realize how much I need Him.
For I don’t just need God for my problems and trials
but for each new day that begins.
There isn’t a cell in my entire body
that He doesn’t know to the finest detail.
For He’s there every day….giving me each breath
and the energy I need to prevail.
Any issues that I have learned to move through
were by grace and the wisdom of His heart.
For I have no intelligence, but what is given to me
by my King who owns each little part.
There is no skill or talent that I’ve ever possessed
that wasn’t given by God from His hand.
For I’m simply a conduit He uses to bless others
so His truths they might all understand.
There’s no provision of life…not a morsel of food
that my pride or ownership could claim.
For even the jobs earning money to provide
are a gift by the power of His name.
My need of fulfillment at His throne in worship
is dependent upon God showing His glory.
For He sought me and saved me…and changed my heart
to give vision and hope to my story.
The older I get and the longer I know God
the confidence in my flesh fades away,
In light of the magnificent, all-sufficiency of God
who I need more and more every day.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV
