Thank you Lord, for this, another day,
With which to trod this path, along life’s way,
You’ve given me the breath I need to breathe,
Food, clothing, shelter, everything I need.
Your Word, your love, you give to feed my soul,
You gave to me salvation, made me whole,
You’ve shown me how to pray, to ease my heart,
When hours seem long and dark, so far apart.
Sometimes my heart seems shackled to this earth,
Knowing all so well, it has no worth,
I know there is no one, so great as You,
And all You’ve laid upon my heart is true.
I ask, Lord, if my actions don’t reflect,
That you would chasten me and then correct,
That everything I daily, say and do,
Would tell the world, each day, I walk with You.
For You have promised you will be with me,
In Spirit and in Truth, eternally,
I need you Lord, each hour in every day.
To help me as I walk along life’s way.
I pray Dear Lord, you’ll help me to be humble,
Lest I should swell with pride and maybe stumble,
I ask that You would guide me, mind and heart,
To seek the needs of others, do my part.
That I might, in some humble sort of way,
Lead them to Jesus, this Dear Lord, I pray,
And Lord, I ask your blessing on the poor,
Their hearts be lifted up, forever more,
The ill, the lame, afflicted, one and all,
Please bless them Lord and make them strong and tall,
A special blessing Lord, for all the youth,
That they see right from wrong and only truth.
There’s lots of things that I forget to pray,
But Lord, you know all hearts and what they say,
What by Your will, let man’s will be the same,
I ask this prayer in Jesus precious name.
