Mary Magdelene

Have you perhaps done more wrong than
could ever be set right?
Do you find yourself awakened by shame
and guilt in the night?
Are you walking in a darkness that cries
out for a spark of light?
Is lonliness the constant companion
of your solitary plight?

There was another who suffered a like fate.
Seven demons held her captive,
she oft found herself berate.
One day she allowed herself to wonder if
God had love for her,
this woman society did hate.

Jesus broke her bondage,
set her captive heart free
And filled her emptiness with
love none other afforded she.
When Jesus would reveal himself
alive again to one who would see
Could anyone have imagined
who this one would be?
