There were times in my life of heartache and strife
Times when my cupboard was bare
But there's been enough times of plenty and peace
That I know God really does care.
There were times in my life of silence and void
Times when my heart couldn't even whisper a song
But there's been enough times of praise to rejoice
That I know to Him I belong.
There were times in my life of illness and pain
Times when my body would fail
But there's been enough times of health and joy
That I know in Him I'll prevail.
There were times in my life of disappointment and grief
Times when my heart would woefully break
But every time He would bind me up
He heals my every broken place!
So the times in my life that still lie ahead
Will find me at peace and bold
For I know without doubt He will carry me through
Whatever tomorrow may hold
