When I was down and felt distress
without true hope or peace of mind
Jesus came and gave me rest
He's our Almighty God, who is always right on time.
At times when I have felt all alone,
when my strength was almost gone
He spoke, "peace be still" to life's raging storms
He gave me joy, and a brand new song.
Like an eagle in the wind
I almost felt that I could fly
The Lord lifted me up once again
God heard my every cry.
His Word is always true
My strength and hope, He did renew
Wait upon the Lord, trust with all your heart,
He will do the same for you.
