Do you have a rival who always seems to outdo you at every turn and lets the whole world know it?

Can you relate to a woman whose single most precious desire has been denied and now she's desperate?

Have you lived your life "by the Book" and yet your so disappointed in yourself that you are convinced he is too?

Does your heartache run so deep that even a love that exceeds all bounds does not ease your pain?

Do you wonder what's the use of a woman such as you?

Are there times when you are certain you are of absolutely no value at all?

Hannah
1Samuel 1:1-20
In Hannah's society the greatest shame a woman could bear was to be barren, unable to produce children. Second only to being only able to produce daughters. They thought fertility and sex of offspring was from the female. And for Hannah this was compounded by the fact that Elkanah had sons by his other wife, Peninnah. And Peninnah was not about to let it become a small matter in this household.
Today there are many ambitions women desire to fulfill. We have learned it's the sperm, which comes from the male, that determines the sex of our offspring; and choosing not to become a mother is not looked upon as a flaw. For those of you who said yes to one of the questions above, please know right now that if you would be the only person to believe on Jesus He would have not changed one thing of the price He paid for your salvation. You are a unique design by the hand of Almighty God and He has a beautiful plan for your life that includes the fulfillment of the desire He has placed in your heart.
Here is how it worked for Hannah ....................

1:1-8 Gives us the situation in which Hannah lived, day after day, year after year. Read these verses then write in your own words a prayer that you may have brought before the Lord for Hannah, had you been her close friend and prayer partner.

But Hannah had no prayer partner and verse 8 tells us that even her closest advocate on earth could not relate to her pain and did not understand her heartache.

1:9 Gives us the setting in which Hannah "stood up" (NIV) to make her own petition before God.

1:10-12 Although there were people all around her Hannah is alone with God. She is in such earnest prayer that she looses track of the image that others may perceive. What bargain does she present to God?

1:13-14 What did the priest conclude from Hannah's actions?

1:15-16 How does Hannah respond? Did she tell Eli what she had asked of God?
explain

1:17 Do you think Eli bought her story?
explain

1:18 Did she accept Eli's blessing? Why do you think so?

1:19-20 You tell the rest of the story:
