Loneliness, nothing can compare
To it's unhappiness, boredom and despair.
Life loses meaning and has no goal.
You feel no warmth, just bitter and cold.
You know it's wrong to feel so sad,
But when you're lonely it's hard to remember
Life hasn't all been bad.

You try to hold your head up and smile
But boredom wins out after a while.
And bitterness finds it's way inside
And despair is also there, at bitterness' side.
For lineliness has already made the way
And leaves you nothing but dread for the coming day.

So close your heart to loneliness and despair
Have only room for happiness there.
And then you'll find, as you make your way
You'll no more dread the coming day
