Grandmother's Poem

A poem once hung on my grandmother's wall
In a prominent place, to be seen by all.
It read like this, "Only one life twill soon be past
Only what's done for Christ will last."
It made an impression on a teen age child
Even though I was kinda wild.
When Grandmother died and they split up her stuff
My parents said, "Son I know this is tough
but what do you want that your grandmother had?"
I want my grandma's poem was my reply.
And this, I want to remember her by.
Now I am a grandpa and it will hang on my wall
In a prominent place to be seen by all.
And maybe some day when I've gone to rest
A grandchild will get it, and will also be blessed.
