Are you a lady who quietly leads, seeking no fame for yourself?
Do you feel it's only when needed you are taken from the shelf?
Do you care about your nation more than fortune or wealth?
Do you find reluctance in the hearts of those who have asked your help?

Does it seem sometimes that God has asked more than you have to give?
Is wife all you want and does your heart really cry to "live & let live";
Yet you know that God has a call on your life you simply cannot ignore?
Have you wondered if a woman like you can give until she's no more?
Let me introduce you to Deborah beginning Judges, chapter four:

Deborah Judges 4&5

4:4 Deborah is a p and wife of Lappidoth.
We are told in this verse that she was leading I at this time.
Reflect:

4:5 She held c under the p of D
which was located between R and B in the hill country of Ephrim.

She was an unusual woman who simply opened her heart
and allowed God to bless her nation through her.
Notice the place where she held court was on her home turf.
Reflect:

And the Isrealites c to h to have their disputes d.

4:6 Notice here that even when she had a word from the Lord for a man
she did not go to him but rather sent for him. Thus leaving it up to him to come and hear from her or to not come.
Read 6-8. Why do you think Barak came to hear from Deborah?

Why do you think he made the statement recorded in verse 8?

4:9-10 These two verses tell us much of the character of Deborah. Was she willing to put her life on the line for what God had told her must be done?
Was she upset with Barak?
I cannot tell if she was or not. I only can see that she met the requirement laid upon her to see this man obey God. Although this is not about Barak it is worth noting here that he would suffer a great humiliation for putting conditions on his obedience.

STOP HERE Skip down to 5:1

The entire 5th chapter of Judges is a victory song sung by Deborah and Barak.
Although Jael is another wonder women with a study of her own we must recognize here that everything Deborah said came to pass.

We can say that Deborah was the first female political figure in the Bible.
4:4 She lead Isreal.
She had her priorties in order...
1] God She was a prophetess, a factor in her identity recognized by all.
2] Husband She was a wife and her husband was known.
3] Ministry She made herself available to conduct the business of her calling.
4] Friend She would stand with Barak at his request.
If God has called you to a position that is public, remember whom He calls He qualifies. Trust in Him and He will direct your steps! Be certain it is God you heard and step out in faith upon His Word.
Fortify your faith by writing a short paragraph about how God has qualified you in the past for what He has given you to do. Remember there is no shadow of turning in Him.
