The 92 year old, petite, well dressed and proud lady, who was fully dressed and well groomed each morning by 8:00 even though she was legally blind, moved to a nursing home after her husband of 70 years passed away. She waited patiently for hours in the lobby and smiled when told her room was ready.

As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator she was provided with a description of the room that would now be her home. "I love it!" she said with great enthusiasm. She was reminded that she was not yet in her room.

"That has nothing to do with it," she replied, "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged... it's how I arrange my mind. I have already decided to love it."

"Old age is like a bank account.... you withdraw from what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of your memories. Thank you for your part in filling my memory bank. I am still depositing."
