The first time I met Barbara
Don brought his new bride home.
From that day in my eyes
The two of them were one.

Since that day the decades
Have come and they have gone.
Births, children playing, learning,
Marriages, and grandchildren came along.
Why even a great grand child
Filled their hearts with song!

Then sickness unto death
Came into their life.
Now Don must walk this path
Without his beloved wife.

Although he walks today without her
He does not walk alone.
The family they reared together
Still knows his place as "Home".
Their example of a marriage,
A love that through it all can last;
May it help each one stand faithful
From the die they cast.

Thank You, Lord for Barbara.
I'm glad her sickness did not
Grip her one more day;
For she now walks a street of gold,
Her song is free of pain.
Please forgive this hollowness
That's crept into my life.
The world for me is "out of sinc."
Without my brother's wife.
