Our precious Lord was tried by Pilot one day
Crucify this Christ, some of the people did say

Through the city streets scorned and stoned
walked Jesus Christ, our Savior; all alone

Carrying that cross to outside the city wall
So heavy the cross, sometimes he did fall

Look at the Savior, you men of shame
Jesus Christ is his glorious name

On Calvary they nailed him for all to see
On that cross he suffered so we can be free

His mother knew this, for in Isaiah it was spoken
One of the crucified, no bones would be broken

"It is finished", was the last words he said
He let out a sigh and slowly bowed is head

Our savior died on the cross in Jerusalem that day
But through his death He is showing us the way

The event was prophesied and some knew
This had to happen to save you, and me too

Jesus was put in the tomb they thought to stay
The tomb was empty, the stone was rolled away

On the third day He rose for you and me
So forever in Eternity with Jesus we will be
