A Personal note:

Please understand that this ministry does not make political statements as you read the contributions published this month. However as I recieved almost daily mailings from some of our American readers I do feel it behooves me to address the Biblical stand each American Christian is instructed to take now.

America is a REPUBLIC (many governments gathered together in common under a central governing body) that is why we have an electorial college, representatives and senators. When you cast a vote last November it was to tell our STATE your stand. The state then sent electorates to tell the nation the stand of the people of that state.

America is a DEMOCRATIC republic (each state is represented according to its population among other factors). This allows the agricultural and ranch states to have common voice with the industrial and tourist states. In this dispensation there may be the rare event that the majority of the population disagrees with the national decision but that event is rare. As America has elected 44 of it's 45 presidents (see history of Gerald Ford's presidency) and 2 of those elections were disputed testifies.
I urge you to hold fast to the knowledge that God is in charge as did our Lord and example.
John 19:11   Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.     (KJV)
I say unto you, when you cast your vote you washed your soul of the outcome of the election and placed it in His hands. If godly Americans failed Him it would have been by not voting. Therefore I urge you to join in prayer for the president who is in power. As Isaiah of old trusted let us trust today:
Isa 26:1-4
26:1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
KJV
Finally remember   "Righteousness exalteth a nation"   Prov 14:34

It it my hope that wether you live in a democracy, dictatorship, or somewhere in between these mailings will encourage you to look to Jesus and hold fast to the knowledge that God is in charge as did our Lord and example.
John 19:11   Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.     (KJV)
This election year reminded me of when John Kennedy was running for office in many ways. Many people cried out then that the pope would be running American politics. History has given us that answer. Please bear with us as we shake up and try to wake up American Christians through these mailings:
Jan 2     Yvonne Lewis starts our year with her Prayer for Peace
Jan 9     Jim Busby gives us God's viewpoint.
Jan 16     I call us to prayer.
Jan 23     JoAnn Kelly calls us to praise.
Jan 30     Gives us a brief glimpse back. to compare to today and measure where we stand.
I would love to recieve from you how these mailings apply to your homeland and what touched your soul with His stirring. There is an old saying where I live that says "we are like the sign above the nursery door 'Many are changed. Few are shaken'."May God shake you up and wake you up to His will in prayer for your government. As Isaiah of old trusted let us trust today:
